Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking an experienced Construction Bookkeeper for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a well-established construction company. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and familiar with the unique accounting requirements within the construction industry, including job costing, progress billing, and subcontractor compliance.
Full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable
Perform job costing, cost allocations, and budget tracking
Prepare and review progress billings/AIA billings
Manage certified payroll and work with union/non-union employees (if applicable)
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and job cost reports
Process subcontractor invoices, lien releases, COIs, and compliance documentation
Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting
Maintain accurate and organized accounting records for multiple projects
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, vendors, and subcontractors
2-5 years of construction accounting or bookkeeping experience
Strong understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, and project accounting
Experience with QuickBooks, Sage 100/300, Foundation, Viewpoint, or other construction accounting systems
Familiarity with AIA billing, compliance documents, and certified payroll (preferred)
Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail
Excellent communication and ability to support both accounting and operations teams
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a project-driven environment
